Coaching International

Nothing changes if nothing changes. If what you did yesterday didn't work, doing the same today and tomorrow will produce the same results. If THINKING were enough to change behavior and beliefs, we'd all be successful, fit and confident! It takes more than thinking. Change takes action.

We are committed to clients reaching their goals, and invite you to check out some client testimonials.

We distinguish ourselves with a unique approach to life design coaching, called somatic coaching.

How is somatic coaching different than other coaching available?

Mainstream coaching is concerned with the intellect, somatic coaching is concerned both with the intellect, and the body. "We care less about what you know than what you can DO with what you know." What action can you take? Is it the action you know in your head you should be taking?

Suppose you have a hard time giving someone negative / constructive feedback. Practicing exactly what you're going to say in front of a mirror will help, but imagine having the power already available in the body to make that kind of practice unnecessary. If you move in the world with power, purpose and groundedness, your actions will be taken seriously by others. The more centered and grounded you are, the more present to every interaction with everybody and the more effective you will become.

Action is best designed with the objectivity of another. Action (especially NEW action) is best maintained by regularly checking in with someone who cares about your concerns, and is equally committed to your success - your personal coach.

You and your coach will co-design the changes you want to make in your life. For example, improving your communication skills to support a more enriching relationship at home, or enhance your time management skills to increase productivity at work are common goals.

Once your goals have been established (and they are specific, measurable, and attainable), you and your coach co-design the new standard somatic practices you will need to embody to reach those goals. For example, if you wish to enhance your communication skills, your coach will design the format for enhancing your exchange with others, agree with whom you can practice on a daily basis, and review progress on a weekly basis.

We are our practices. So? Well, there's good news and bad news here. The good news is that if we repeat something over time, we get really good at it; the bad news is that if we repeat something over time, we get really good at it. Imagine the practice of flossing your teeth. If you're in the practice of this activity on a daily basis, you'll be congratulated by your dentist; if you're in the practice of not flossing on a daily basis.......

If you're in the practice of saying negative things to yourself (I'm so stupid, I'm so fat, I'm so lazy, it'll never work, just give up now....), then you'll get really good at this until your daily activities are significantly impacted by a poor attitude. If you're in the practice of saying positive things to yourself - congratulations! You're amongst the few who've grasped the necessity of being complimentary to yourself, thereby enhancing your self-confidence and self-esteem, and improving your performance in every domain!
